Thanks Fiona & Sue
We are just back from PSI 2016 in Dusseldorf Germany, this is a show that focuses on products, trends and innovations for branded products. It’s a great opportunity for us to meet with suppliers, see new products and understand some of the trends for the coming year.
We are currently expanding our supplier network, and adding in more suppliers that are based in Poland, Spain, Hungary, Turkey, Croatia. The turnaround times are faster than Asia, and the gap in pricing has started to reduce. We are always on the look out for new branding possibilities, and this is something we are searching for when we attend trade shows, new innovations and ways in which brands can really stand out.
1) Suppliers have upped their game when it comes to branding!
IML printing (or In Mould Labeling) has been around for a while, this is a method of branding onto plastic that is done during the moulding process, and the label literally becomes part of the product. It’s a fantastic method of branding, as it allows for full colour, photographic print to be produced, the result is hard wearing, dishwasher proof etc. and the end result is a fantastic finished product. Denny produced a lunch box using this technology for a Back to School campaign and resulted in a very vivid end result.
Suppliers are realising that we need help when it comes to design possibilities, the more we are aware of what is possible, the more we can advise our clients to take risks and add quirky features to products without it costing a fortune or ordering tens of thousands! we saw some really funky designed products while we were there.
3) New Ideas
We are tired of visiting shows and seeing the same products rolled out time after time. USB’s, Pens, Umbrellas, Notepads, Cups…. snoore! It was nice to see new products, or the tried and tested products in a different light. Ceramic mugs with branding engraved in a new and innovative way, new use for technology, make up brushes reinvented to clean the inside of your car!, water bottles reinvented in quirky designs and shapes, organic tooth brushes… we were pleasantly surprised with the products displayed.
If you would like to see any of these products, or get some more information on these, please don’t hesitate to contact the office on 045 882757 and speak to Fiona, Sue or Jenny for more information.
